| Considering how bad the martial arts quality of wuxia films the last 12 months, I would rate it as mildly entertaining and all the credit goes to Donnie Yen for showing a forceful, brute forced minded, doctrine enhanced, tattooed head of imperial body guard turned most wanted criminal by the highest court amid being the most corrupted eunuch. |

Just finished this. I LOVED Donnie Yen..actually most of the cast. As many have stated not only is the CGI more than a bit meh (hated the town models) it was also overdone (Kate Tsui fight scenes) . I had high hopes for this picture, and they were more than met. Now on to True Legend, and Bodyguards and Assassins |

watched it last night, pretty good movie. donnie yen is quite excellent as usual (and great body in here too. hehe...) liked the fresh faces, notibly Kate Tsui and Wu zhun (i think that's his name). Vicky was average, her voice needs to be dubbed, she just doesnt sound right.
it was overall worth watching, esp the fight scenes between donnie and kate. and I liked their ending. |

Awww you didn't like Vicky Zhao's voice in this film. I thought there was nothing wrong with her voice. Maybe I am so used to her voice _________________

See I liked the ending to a degree, but HATED it in others. What they did was beautifully done.
For me it was more you spend the whole movie warming up to the "cold blooded killer" (Donnie), and watching this romance form, bonds between unlikely alliances...and then he dies...almost TOO somber an ending IMO. |

While watching this, I couldn't help but be reminded of Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon throughout in terms of style (cause of the same director perhaps?) though like many others have said, Donnie really kicks in the movie. It was really amazing to see Donnie's topless form that shows he really takes good care of himself. _________________
